Orvieto overlooking the green valley of the river Paglia is a beautiful town that owes its charm to its history and to its free-spirit.

The city was founded six centuries before Christ; it was an Etruscan and Roman center then a rich medieval citadel known as Urbs Vetus (Old Town).

Today Orvieto has kept its spirit alive and is rich in cultural events that cross the city throughout the year and are an inevitable invitation to visit.

The Feast of Palombella (the dove symbolizing the Holy Spirit), which is held every year on the occasion of Pentecost fine from the sixteenth century

The Palio of the goose, the Sunday after Pentecost, which takes place on the Piazza del Popolo, with dirt track and sees the dispute between the various knights of the two ancient districts (Pistrella and Cava) with games of skill on horseback.
